Function / Content

This series consists of copies of notice of applications for a lease forms (which were made under the Mining Ordinance 1939) as received by the Mines Branch. Also included is related correspondence, including letters and telegrams. copies of statutory declarations and Power of Attorney made in relation to the lease/s being applied for. The first file, WO5, primarily consists of rejected Water Rights applications. Many of these rejected applications were made by Hector Victor Leonard for subterranean water rights on the Kurundi Goldfield, in the Wauchope locality. Other applications of file relate to the Mosquito Creek and Hatches Creek wolfram fields. The second file primarily consists of applications relating to mining tenements and requests for mineral leases in the Warramunga Goldfield although Kurundi Goldfield applications are also on file.
